In order to make things easier on you and your HVAC equipment, Galmiche &amp; Sons Heating &amp; Cooling has come up with a list of things you can do ahead of time in order to protect your HVAC system:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Consult with your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.galmicheandsons.com\/about-us.html\">HVAC company<\/a> first.<\/strong> Before you commit to a project, review your plans with your HVAC contractor in order to know how the remodeling project will impact your HVAC system. The company will let you know if there will be an effect on your HVAC system and can also suggest ways you can protect it during the entire process of remodeling.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Turn off your HVAC system when things get dusty.<\/strong> Avoid using your air conditioner when doing remodeling work to prevent dust from getting in the vents, the furnace, and the air ducts. If possible, open windows to allow your home to breath naturally.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cover the vents.<\/strong> Closing the vents is not enough; use vent covers for an extra layer of protection for the air conditioner.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Do the prep work outside the house.<\/strong> As much as possible, any work that could generate a large amount of dust\u2014such as sawing and sanding\u2014should be done outside, in the garage or in the yard, to prevent it from infiltrating your HVAC system.
